The Paphos bus company (Osypa) threatened on Monday to go on strike from December 12, in protest over what they claimed is a breach of agreement by the communications and works ministry.
Osypa president George Ioannides said that the company was forced to call the indefinite strike from next Monday because of the serious problems it faced for many years as an organisation.
For six years the ministry had delayed implementing measures towards modernising the buses he said, explaining that according to European regulations, public transport vehicles must be replaced every sixteen years.
