Forestry department issues fire danger red alert

       
       
       

The forestry department is warning the public that due to the heatwave conditions the chances of fires starting and spreading has reached red alert levels.

   
               

The department is also asking everyone to avoid any activities or work that might lead to fires, as well as cooperation.

Anyone who spots a fire or smoke, in or close to the forest should instantly notify their nearest forestry station or call 1407 (forestry department) or 112 (fire service).
