The Cyprus’ Olympic Committee has announced that weightlifter Antonis Martasides has been accused of doping, and has been banned from the Rio Games, an announcement said on Friday.
The Committee said that they were informed by Cyprus’ Anti-Doping Authority (CyADA) that the checks conducted on Martasides on July 25, 2016 in Athens showed irregularities.
The Committee added that a prohibited substance had shown up in the athlete’s urine test.
