An 62 year old English Cypriot man died yesterday afternoon while swimming at the blue lagoon in the Akamas region.
The man, identified by police as Christoforos Christoforou from Maroni, was found unconscious at sea.
The man was accompanied by his partner and his 14 year old daughter on a boat ride from Latchi to Akamas that stops at the blue lagoon, giving tourists a chance to swim there.
The 62 year old was transported to the Polis hospital at around 19:30 where he was pronounced dead. Cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
