Cyprus is playing a larger role now in the security of the Eastern Mediterranean, UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said on Friday after a meeting he had with the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades.
Fallon who is paying an official visit to Cyprus said that “we`ve had very constructive talks this morning about continuing the defence cooperation programme and extending it in maritime security and aviation security as well.”
He said that following his meeting with the President he was going to visit the “ZENON” Crisis Coordination Center in Larnaca, adding that “Cyprus is playing this larger role now in the security of the Eastern Mediterranean.”
