A rogue monkey – on the run for the past month – has finally been caught, SigmaLive Greek reported earlier on Tuesday.
‘Danny’ ran away on October 26 after an individual reportedly tried to steal him from his cage, located outside a Paphos home.
Witnesses reported sighting the monkey across Paphos and even as far as Limassol while he was on the run.
He was caught after a resident spotted him eating eggs inside a chicken coop in Palodeia, Limassol District, and locked the simian inside the coop to prevent his escape, SigmaLive Greek learnt.
Police were immediately informed and returned the monkey to its owner.
Danny’s return to his owners was heavily criticised by the Animal Party.
