Pafos police officer in 12,000 euro corruption case

The police internal affairs unit is investigating a case against a Pafos police officer, who is alleged on 3 occasions to have promised vehicles to different persons, telling them they had been confiscated by police and when they would be sold in a public auction.

The officer reportedly gained 12,000 euros from those cases.

The police press officer Andreas Aggelides said the officer is being investigated for conspiracy to break the law, abuse of power, corruption of a public servant, accumulation of money under false pretenses and for offences that fall under the Council of Europe’s anti-corruption laws.
