New Foreign Ministry travel advice for Indonesia issued 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, is advising Cypriot nationals who are intending to travel to Indonesia, to avoid non-essential travel to Gili Islands in the wake of a magnitude-6.9 earthquake on Sunday due to aftershocks.

Today’s travel advice was issued in addition to yesterday’s advice which said the Foreign Ministry is closely following the developments in Indonesia and urged Cypriot nationals who are already there or will travel for any reason to Indonesia or near the affected areas, to follow the instructions of the authorities, including those for compulsory evacuations and to stay informed about the situation through the media.

Apart from advising Cypriots to avoid non-essential travel to Gili islands, the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday further urges those who will travel to Bali and Lombok islands to be ready to review their travel plans and seek advice from their travel agents before departing. They are also adviced to monitor the news for any developments.
