The Department of Public Works is expected to promote studies on the
creation of an organised beach area using coastal land rented by the
state.
The studies will be submitted once the necessary works for the
protection and enrichment of the beach are completed, according to
Paphos district officer Mary Lambrou.
In a statement, Mrs. Lambrou said the aim is to promote the regeneration
of Kouklia square within the framework of supporting the development of
the entire community.
The cost of the regeneration, according to
preliminary estimates, could rise to 1 million euros and is expected to
attract local and foreign tourism while also creating new job
opportunities in the area.
