Pafos Police crack forgery ring

Four Serbian nationals living in Paphos have been arrested for the possession of fake documents, according to Paphos police.


A 23-year old woman, a 32-year-old couple and a 34-year-old man were according to police, on Thursday in possession of a large number of fake Slovenian driver’s licences and identity cards.

The case came to light when the 23-year-old suspect was arrested by Paphos police when it was discovered that she was using fake documents, including an identity card and driver’s licence.

She admitted, while being questioned, that she had purchased the documents from fellow countrymen which she then named.

Police proceeded to arrest the Serbian couple. Following a search of the couple’s apartment, police confiscated five computers, a printer, identity documents, blank EU driver’s licences of, blank plastic cards the size of identity cards and 85 rolls of thermal paper.

The 34-year-old suspect who was at the time in the couple’s apartment was also arrested.

Following police investigations, it was discovered that the Serbian couple is in Cyprus illegally, while police do not rule out making more arrests in connection with the case.
