147 drivers reported on Paphos secondary road network on Wednesday

Members of the Paphos Traffic Police, in collaboration with Police officers serving in rural stations, conducted an operation on the secondary road network of Paphos on Wednesday. During this operation, 147 traffic complaints were issued, most of which pertained to exceeding the speed limit while driving, according to Paphos Operations Assistant Police Director Michalis Nikolaou.

The operation, Mr. Nikolaou told CNA, which took place from 07:30 to 18:00, involved stops and checks at several points primarily in rural areas aiming to prevent road traffic collisions, combat youth delinquency in terms of traffic offenses, and detect drivers violating traffic law regulations.

In total, the campaign resulted in 147 traffic complaints, of which 67 were for speeding and 12 were for not using a seatbelt. Additionally, 7 drivers were reported for using a mobile phone, 8 drivers were found driving without insurance coverage, and 5 without a driving license.
