Oxford and Cambridge recognise the students of The International School of Paphos

Four students of The International School of Paphos (ISOP) recently gained recognition from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Iosif Ajami, who is in Year 13 and will be taking his A-Level examinations in summer, has received an open offer from Oxford to study Engineering at any college of his choice. Iosif, who is also ISOP’s Deputy Head Student and had previously earned awards and scholarships for his outstanding academic performance, also received offers from Birmingham University, Imperial College London and University College London. He is one of twelve students from ISOP who will graduate this year and have already obtained conditional offers from one or more of Britain’s prestigious Russell Group universities.

In addition, three pupils from The International School of Paphos received High Achiever Awards from Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) at a ceremony in Nicosia: Anastasia Dolitsay, now Year 12, for IGCSE Art and Design, Zijun Zhu, who now goes to school in the UK, for IGCSE Economics, and Marcus Chojnowski, now Year 13, for AS-Level Economics. All three were awarded for obtaining the highest marks in Cyprus in these subjects last summer.

Head of The International School of Paphos, Dr Litsa Olympiou, commented: “Receiving an offer to study at the University of Oxford is a great achievement and something to be cherished and celebrated. So is recognition as an Outstanding Learner by Cambridge International. This proves yet again that ISOP helps its pupils fulfil their potential and reach excellence, which is why many of our graduates go on to top universities in the UK and elsewhere’’.
